Image Gallery - Maypearl - Texas Regional The task of this project was to translate historic Texas style to an open and inviting getaway for an energetic family. The firm used local materials, salvaged long leaf pine timbers, reclaimed heavy timbers for mortise-and-tenon trusses, wood decking for cabinet work, and familiar forms of the region: Texas limestone, steeply pitched metal roofing, deep porches, wide overhangs, varied rooflines and window configurations, dormers, a central core with a series of wings to define major spaces, and a courtyard terrace positioned to capture prevailing breezes. All of these attributes contribute to a timber frame Texas crafted, feeling and appearance. |
