Hill Country Ranch on San Gabriel River

HILL COUNTRY RANCH HOME ON THE SAN GABRIEL RIVER NEAR AUSTIN, TEXAS

This ranch home was designed for a family who wanted to escape to the Hill Country and still live near Austin, where they work. Williamson County, Texas is on the South San Gabriel River, where dramatic 150-ft. limestone cliffs frame the river on the property. To focus the house on the significant view was a priority in the home’s design.

The initial step in the design process is a visit to the property by Texas architect Steve Chambers in order to understand the site informs what the design “wants to be.”
