Ellis County Ranch

This family has deep rural roots in Texas and engaged Stephen B. Chambers Architects to design a home on this property in West Ellis County utilizing the forms and materials of their collective memories of home.  The site itself becomes the design’s most important feature and informs us to the extent that it tells us what the building wants to be. Meeting with the client on the site to begin their collaboration on their new home design is one of the first steps in the design process. They plan to raise cattle and add a barn to the structures on the property.
